Ep2 L LaShawn Fairley - Lifting Black ADHD Voices
About L. LaShawn:
I am a black, middle-aged, single mother with ADHD and anxiety, who was diagnosed very late in life at age 50. I share both diagnoses with my young adult manchild, almost 19, who was first diagnosed when he started kindergarten. I am now a transformational speaker who advocates for speaking up and out about the misconceptions, miseducation and misjudgements surrounding ADHD, especially in black communities. I am also an author and parent mentor helping other black mothers, and women, truly understand their ADHD brains and nervous systems. Through my bi-monthly workshops, I also teach them how to develop strategies that work best for them and not against their ADHD symptoms.
