Supporting Innovative & Imactful Community & Collaborative Projects

Why Franki's Fund Was Created

Jennifer, Founder of Lady Rebel Club, has always known she wanted to support her community in meaningful ways. Being marginalised herself and having faced biases when applying for grants and funding, she understood too well the additional hurdles her community faced.

So when she lost her sister in the summer of 2023 at the age of only 27, Francesca, or Franki as her friends called her, Jennifer knew she wanted to do something in her name to both carry her legacy and to help others like her, who never really got the chance they needed.

Having someone believe in your dream, your work, your talent, or your mission is not only empowering but can be life-changing. Lady Rebel Club and the Franki's Fund project collaborate to support innovative and impactful community projects.

More About Franki

Franki was a very talented painter, poet, and photographer, and was a funny, intelligent, spirited, and caring person. She was also neurodivergent, had chronic conditions and struggled with mental health conditions.

We believe Franki's Fund is a way of supporting other women, like Jennifer's sister, while honouring her memory in a way she would have loved.

Before her passing, Franki was preparing to enter a poetry competition - here is the bio she wrote:

"Francesca Lith is a first-generation Colombian American residing in Brooklyn, NY. She is a poet, photographer and multimedia artist. Her work is influenced by the ebb and flow of dealing with mental health struggles, trauma, love and loss, and finding the beauty within. Through her poems, she aims to challenge preconceived notions and remind others they are not alone."

Below is a photograph of Francesca from 2016. Below that are two of her black-and-white self-portrait photographs on tiles, along with a collage featuring her, flowers, and her cat, Spit.
